Hi, I'm Rob Barber,
Resilience coach, applied neuroscience practitioner, and someone who has spent over 25 years navigating the same high-stakes, high-pressure professional environment my clients know well.
My corporate background is in IT Procurement. The kind of work that involves complex systems, significant risk, high-stakes negotiation, and the relentless expectation of performance regardless of what is happening beneath the surface.
I understand the culture my clients come from, because I have lived inside it. A few years ago, alongside the demands of that career, I found myself managing serious work stress, recovering from a physical injury, and processing all of it without wanting to place that weight on the people around me. There was no crisis, no dramatic breakdown, just a clear eyed recognition that I had no real system for absorbing and recovering from sustained pressure. And that without one, performance and wellbeing were both quietly at risk.
That experience became the foundation of everything SteadyStream is built on. Since then, I have combined coaching training with applied neuroscience study including Dr. Sarah McKay's Neuroscience Academy to develop a framework that is rigorous where it needs to be, and practical where it counts.
One built for the life of a high-performing professional who is carrying a great deal, largely on their own, and ready to go further. SteadyStream is not the result of theory. It is the result of living it, studying it, and building something I genuinely wish had existed sooner.
